On Friday, April 2, John and I finally felt well enough to go over to visit Nathan and Sam. Nathan had received this really big heavy equipment flat bed truck from his Auntie Leigh for his birthday. He can haul a bulldozer and a front end loader on it! Sam mostly took a nap while we were there so we had lots of time to play trucks.
Month: April 2010
On Easter Sunday, we went over to Ryan and Jon’s for brunch. Nathan had been requesting trucks in eggs. Amazingly he had remembered that two years ago, when he was only two, I had hidden plastic eggs with little trucks in them in our backyard. Since the weather was not too good, we hid the eggs in the living room and Nathan scurried around with his basket finding them. Afterwards he played trucks with me and with John.
Not only were there trucks in the eggs, but also a roll of “Cars” tatoos. Nathan wanted some on his hands and on his foot. He and I counted to thirty and then lifted the paper backing off the tatoo. Then I got three on my hands and Zayde got a couple too!
After a restful nap, Sam was ready to join in the Easter fun. Both Sam and Nathan really like their Zayde. Sam sat contentedly on John’s lap for quite a while taking eggs out of the pail and putting them back in.
Then we all sat down to a really delicious brunch of French toast, strawberries and mimosas.
