Next we visited the Kuznechny market. It was reminiscent of the Saluhall in Stockholm although not quite as neat and tidy. There was a fairly large variety of meats and vegetables. The women behind the counter gave us tasty samples of all sorts of pickled vegetables. I felt bad that we couldn’t buy anything but since we had no way of keeping anything cold, it was impossible. It was great to see a little slice of every day Russian life and not just the inside of cathedrals and palaces.
