July 15, 2010 St. Petersburg, Russia

Today we took a tour organized by Regent. we were herded on to buses for an hour and a half hour trip to the palace of Peter the Great, the pavilions of the tsarinas and the Peterhof gardens and fountains. We were treated, along the way, with what appeared to be what regular people live in. Certainly not palaces but horrible rundown apartment buildings from the Soviet era. Our guide, Lisa, assured us that these would ultimately be torn down and replaced by beautiful buildings. Upon arriving at our destination we saw this church, the St. Peter and Paul cathedral reflected in a pond.
