March 12, 13, 14, 2014 – BNP Paribas Open, Indian Wells

On the spur of the moment we decide to attend the Masters Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells. It is hard to find accommodations and tickets but Fran, our contact at the box office does a masterful job. We will see the Round of 16 and the Quarterfinals which means we will get to see most of the best players. Although it was too late to stay in our favorite hotel, we make up for it by going over some evenings to hang in the bar and try to catch sight of the players when they are just relaxing. We have a great time and decide to go back again next year. Here are some (not boring to me) pictures of our favorite players.

And now for the most important player –

So as it turns out Federer and Wawrinka lose the doubles match we saw. Roger goes on to play Djokovic in the finals and loses. But a good showing nonetheless.

March 9, 2014 – Nathan’s birthday celebration

Yesterday was Nathan’s birthday. He was eight! Wow, time surely does fly. He had his “friends” birthday party yesterday and today we go over to give him presents and take everyone out to brunch. Nathan likes his presents and especially likes the giant coffee cake at Hobbee’s.
