Visiting fossils
Hmm, how should that be interpreted? Were we visiting fossils or were we the visiting fossils? In our neverending search to know as much about geology and the fossil record as possible, today we visited Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. This is a park which covers a rather recent event, only 35 million years old. Seems like this lahar (a great crossword puzzle word) covered a bunch of redwoods and also a lot of insects and leaves, leaving an incredible fossil record.
