December 14, 2011 Birthday Surprise Mystery Fun Day with Sarah

For my birthday, Sarah plans a surprise mystery fun day. She researches what is going on in the area and chooses events that she knows I will enjoy. We start in SF at the deYoung Museum where we see a special exhibition on Venetian Renaissance painters. Sarah and I have toured many museums in the U.S. and in Europe and always enjoy identifying the saints and looking for the iconography in the paintings.

Then we go to lunch at Annabelle’s Bistro. We feel very sophisticated lunching in the city. I have a delicious luncheon salad.

And now the coup de grace! Sarah has found a special exhibition of Oz cartoons at the Cartoon Art Museum. I am an ardent Oz-ite and through the years both Jon and Sarah have surprised me with Oz books, movies and videos. I am super excited.

Sarah and I are tea aficionados. So for the last act to my Birthday Surprise Mystery Fun Day Sarah and I have tea and scones at the Samovar Tea Lounge.
